Tissot making a leap in Augmented Reality shopping

The Swiss watch manufacturer Tissot has gone hi-tech with their new way of promoting their range of watches. In a jewelry shop in London, they are allowing passers-by to try on some watches without the need to go into the shop and deal with shop assistants through the use of a mirror and Augmented Reality.

By strapping on a paper wristband the “mirror” will display a real-time 3D image of whichever watch you select over the wristband making it appear as if you are wearing the watch itself. You can change the watch, the wristband, size, and have a preview of the watch’s features.

This isn’t only exclusive to the London shop, you can also experience this from the comfort of your desk chair or sofa at home on Tissot’s own Reality website.

Now if only we can have this for clothes, jewelry and accessories we would never need to enter a shop again. The mania of rush hour and sale crazes can be over!
